Kenwal Pickling
|
| The Kenwal Pickling Process |
|||
| 1. | Steel Coils are delivered by truck or rail via an onsite rail line and warehoused in an indoor coil storage area (50,000 ton capacity) where they are inspected and inventoried. | ||
| 2. | Coils are then transferred to an off-line prep station to be cropped and gauged to specific customer requirements: A process that expedites overall pickling line production. | ||
| 3. | Pickling begins at the entry line where steel is uncoiled. An anti-coil break device minimizes coil defects throughout all stages of the line processing. Tension leveling may also be applied. | ||
| 4. | Flattened steel coils are then run through a series of heated and turbulent HCL acid baths of various concentration. | ||
| 5. | Steel coils then pass through a stain-free rinse section and are dried and X-ray gauged | ||
| 6. | Oils are electrostatically applied to the coil. | ||
